LBA FUNDS reinvents the traditional system of patronage – in which a patron supports and is engaged in a relationship with an artist – to allow any interested individual to become a patron; to enable artists to receive the funding they need for a project in a timely manner; and to empower a new pool of arts donors.Visitors to www.lasbellasartes.org can review artists' proposals, make donations that fund grants for artists to make their work, communicate with those they have supported, and view completed projects.It is our goal to open up the field of patronage by enabling visitors to our site to support artists working in any media whose proposals they find compelling. In Fall 2009 we will begin facilitating donations to artists on a project-by-project basis. We hope that you are impressed by the artists whose work we feature and that you will take advantage of this new opportunity in philanthropy and arts patronage.
