About 2010, Las Bellas Artes, The Pigmy Deer

How does The Pigmy Deer Network promotes Mexican creativity ?

Since 2008, The Pigmy Deer Network , a project conceived by Las Bellas Artes Org. , has supported Mexican artists and the promotion of their work BOTH: home and abroad. The Pigmy Deer Network aims are to seize the best original, creative national projects in order to represent Mexico´s Contemporary Creativity worldwide. We go from assessing and selecting projects to publish, guide or connect to other artists. This creates an active network, where its participants are informed and aware of the artistic/creative situation in matter.

That´s why The Pigmy Deer Network was created by Las Bellas Artes Org. . Not only to be recognized as The First Mexican Talent Stock ever structured, but to be a project where the multidisciplinary collaboration structures results worth seeing worldwide.

On the other side, Las Bellas Artes.Org is an art-based business platform hired by artists and institutions. We structure the conception, organization and production of exhibitions. We are based in Mexico, New York & Barcelona.

Our collaborators are artists, architects, curators, designers, editors, etc.
Until now , 5 different counties are involved in this online editorial project.

If you have a twitter account, people go insane on Fridays.

I love it. It´s all good Karma, and love spread. ( at least from Me ! )

SO THE GAME IS THIS :

Everyone shouts who you should "follow" , and it´s all in a hidden code ( hash tag ).
Easy, very easy cowboy !!! There is even a contact called @followfriday, that rates the most"follow-fridayed" contacts....UFF....I KNOW...IT´S ALL TWISTED.

#FF made me realize the power of this incredible tool called Twitter. The power of someone to shout out loud whom to follow, AND TO REALIZE PEOPLE ARE "LISTENING" .

TPD/LBA : THE BOOKMARK PROJECT:100 SITES | A YEAR || No. 1

About 2010, BookmarkProject2010, Projects, The Pigmy Deer

At the risk of having you never come back to this site, I have the aim to constantly publish the best (mexican) sites I find day by day, to feed your creative appetite.

Most of the sites I´ll include day by day ( if possible) do not get the credit they deserve, and even if it´s a popular one, They deserve even more attention. The compile will be called

THE BOOKMARK PROJECT:100 SITES / A YEAR

The project , obviously, will be an archive in no particular order. This will be the beginning of a New Era, The Mexican Talent Stock / Websites Chapter. Curated by The Pigmy Deer Network (based in Mexico & Spain) and Las Bellas Artes.Org an international art-based business platform based in New York.

The Catalogue will be published online (as a website), in December 2010, and presented for the first time in Barcelona,Spain and Paris,France.(For further Details, stay tunned !! )

At the end, maybe dozens more could have been added to this "yearbook" (so, perhaps there will be a sequel to it).

I am extremely flattered to be named one of THE BROWN FOX STUDIO "friend sites", especially along side : QUIERO POSH ( and all time favorite ), TOC TOC ( our featured project) AND MITOSIS ( MY ENTIRE ADMIRATION FOR THIS PROJECT).

They were/are huge huge huge inspirations for starting/continuing this magazine, and they are a daily support, and advisors.They represent The Example of what Mexican creativity lead you to. At least the type of work we are looking to promote and expose worldwide.

So, yes.We´ll have a tought, tough time, along with Las Bellas Artes to pick our top 100 sites this year. It´ll be fun ! At least we already have our No.1.
